Best Ever Green Smoothie – Gluten, Dairy and Banana Free Recipe

Yields: 1-2 servings
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Blend Time: 1-2 minutes

  • 1 cup packed fresh spinach: A great source of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
  • 1/2 cup packed fresh kale: (optional, but adds another layer of nutrients)
  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks: Provides natural sweetness and creaminess.
  • 1/2 avocado: Adds healthy fats and a luxuriously smooth texture.
  • 1 cup unsweetened plant-based milk: Almond, coconut, or oat milk all work well.
  • 1 tablespoon nut butter: Peanut, almond, or cashew butter for a flavor and protein boost.
  • 1-2 scoops protein powder (optional): Use your favorite vegan variety for added protein.
  • Sweetener of choice (optional): A touch of maple syrup or honey if required.

  • Combine ingredients: Add all ingredients to a high-powered blender. It’s helpful to start with liquids at the bottom, followed by leafy greens, and then frozen fruits.
  • Blend until smooth: Blend on high speed until you achieve a very creamy and smooth consistency. If the smoothie seems too thick, add a splash more plant-based milk.
  • Taste and adjust: Give your smoothie a taste. If you want it sweeter, add a touch of your preferred sweetener.
  • Enjoy! Pour into a glass and serve immediately for the best texture and temperature.

  • Greens swap: Feel free to swap spinach and/or kale with other leafy greens like romaine lettuce or Swiss chard.
  • Fruity variations: Use frozen pineapple, berries, or peaches instead of mango for fun flavor variations.
  • For extra freshness: Add a squeeze of lemon or lime, or some fresh mint leaves.
  • Make it ahead: You can blend all ingredients except for the avocado the night before and store in the refrigerator. Add the avocado just before serving for the creamiest consistency.
