Boston Market Brownie Recipe

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Don’t overmix!
  • Fold in the chocolate chips, if using.
  • Pour the batter into your greased baking pan.
  • Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not completely clean). The center might seem a little gooey, but that’s what gives brownies their fudgy texture!
  • Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting and serving.

  • For chewier brownies, bake for 25-28 minutes.
  • Want extra fudgy brownies? Use melted butter instead of vegetable oil.
  • You can substitute chopped walnuts or pecans for the chocolate chips.
  • To make these brownies richer, add a tablespoon of espresso powder to the batter.
  • For a shiny crackly top, sprinkle a little coarse sugar over the batter before baking.

Enjoy your homemade Boston Market-inspired brownies!
