Crab Rangoon Bites Recipe


Wonton Wrappers:

  • 30 wonton wrappers

Cream Cheese Filling:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 6-8 ounces crab meat (imitation or real), flaked/shredded
  • 2-3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • Pinch of black pepper (optional)

For Baking/Frying:

  • Cooking spray or oil for greasing
  • 1-2 cups vegetable oil for deep-frying (if desired)
  • Sweet and Sour Sauce (for dipping)


Make the Filling:

  • Combine softened cream cheese and sour cream in a medium bowl until smooth.
  • Fold in crab meat, green onions, garlic powder, ginger, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper (if using).
  • Adjust seasonings to your preference.

Assemble the Rangoon Bites:


  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a mini muffin tin.
  • Place a wonton wrapper in each muffin cup, pressing down gently to form a base.
  • Spoon a generous teaspoon of filling into each wonton cup.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until wontons are golden brown and filling is set.


  • Heat 1-2 inches of vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • Working in batches, carefully add a few rangoons to the hot oil. Fry for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Drain on paper towels.

Serve and Enjoy:

  • Serve Crab Rangoon bites warm with your favorite sweet and sour sauce for dipping.

  • Crab Options: Use real cooked crab meat for the best flavor or imitation crab for a budget-friendly option.
