Cucumber Watermelon Martinis Recipe

Yields: 2 martinis
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Chill Time (Optional): 30 minutes

  • Watermelon: 2 cups cubed, seedless
  • Cucumber: 1/2 medium cucumber, peeled and sliced
  • Sugar: 1/4 cup
  • Water: 1/4 cup
  • Vodka: 3 ounces
  • Lime juice: Juice of 1 lime (approx. 2 tbsp)
  • Ice
  • Garnish (optional): Cucumber slices, watermelon wedges

  • Blender
  • Martini shaker
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Martini glasses

1. Make the Cucumber Simple Syrup

  • Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves (about 10 seconds).
  • Remove from heat and add cucumber slices.
  • Let steep until the syrup cools to room temperature.
  • Strain into a jar and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to a month!).

2. Prepare the Watermelon Juice

  • Blend the cubed watermelon until liquified.
  • Strain through a fine-mesh strainer to remove any seeds or pulp (optional, but recommended for a smooth martini).

3. Assemble the Martinis

  • Add 1 cup of the watermelon juice to your martini shaker.
  • Add 1.5-2 ounces of cucumber simple syrup (adjust to your sweetness preference).
  • Add vodka and lime juice.
  • Fill the shaker 3/4 full with ice.
  • Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is frosty.

4. Serve

  • Strain the mixture into chilled martini glasses.
  • Garnish with cucumber slices or watermelon wedges if desired.

Chill glasses: Store your martini glasses in the freezer for a perfectly frosty drink.

Freshness matters: Use the freshest watermelon and cucumber you can find!

Adjust sweetness: Use more or less simple syrup depending on your preference.

Experiment: Try adding a touch of mint for a different flavor profile.

Enjoy your refreshing cucumber watermelon martinis!
