Honey Mustard Croutons Recipe


  • Bread: 4-5 cups of day-old bread, cubed (about 1/2 inch cubes) Sourdough, ciabatta, French bread, or even whole wheat are all great options.
  • Olive Oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Honey: 1 tablespoon
  • Dijon Mustard: 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic Powder: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Black Pepper: 1/4 teaspoon

Optional Flavor Boosters:

  • Dried herbs like thyme or Italian seasoning (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes for a little spice


  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • Make the Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, honey, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add any optional herbs or spices you’d like.
  • Coat the Bread: Place the bread cubes in a large bowl. Pour the honey mustard dressing over the bread and gently toss to coat evenly.
  • Bake: Spread the croutons in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Stir them halfway through baking for even browning.
  • Cool and Enjoy: Let the croutons cool completely on the baking sheet before using or storing them. Enjoy them on salads, soups, or as a snack!

  • Store completely cooled honey mustard croutons in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
