IHOP Bacon Recipe

  • Thick-cut bacon: 16 slices or your desired amount
  • Brown sugar: 1/4 cup
  • Maple syrup: 1/4 cup
  • Cayenne pepper: 1/4 teaspoon (adjust for your heat preference)

  • Prep: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  • Make the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper until thoroughly combined.
  • Coat the Bacon: Lay the bacon slices flat on the baking sheet. Brush both sides of each slice generously with the glaze.
  • Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes. For extra crispy bacon, flip the slices halfway through the baking time. Keep an eye on it, as cooking times vary depending on ovens and bacon thickness. The bacon is done when it’s deeply browned and crispy.
  • Cool & Enjoy: Remove the bacon from the oven and let it cool slightly on the baking sheet. This allows it to crisp up further. Serve warm and enjoy!

Pro Tips:

  • Quality Bacon: Use good quality, thick-cut bacon for the best flavor and texture.
  • Don’t Crowd the Pan: Leave a little space between bacon slices to ensure even cooking and optimal crispiness. You may need to bake in batches.
  • Adjust Sweetness: If you like your bacon sweeter, add a bit more brown sugar or maple syrup to the glaze.
  • Get Creative: Try adding other spices to the glaze, like black pepper, smoked paprika, or a pinch of chili powder for exciting variations!
