Lemon Drop Cocktail Recipe


  • 2 ounces vodka: Use your favorite brand.
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice: Fresh is key for that bright lemon flavor.
  • 1/2 ounce triple sec: Cointreau is a popular option, but any triple sec works.
  • 1 ounce simple syrup: Or adjust to taste depending on your desired sweetness.
  • Sugar: For rimming the glass
  • Lemon wedge: For garnish


  • Cocktail shaker
  • Martini glass or chilled cocktail glass
  • Jigger or measuring spoons
  • Shallow plate


Prep the glass:

  • Run a lemon wedge around the rim of your martini glass.
  • Pour some sugar into a shallow plate.
  • Dip the rim of the glass into the sugar, coating it evenly.

Shake the cocktail:

  • Add vodka, lemon juice, triple sec, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  • Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is very frosty.

Strain and serve:

  • Strain the mixture into your prepared martini glass.
  • Garnish with a lemon wedge, if desired.


  • Make your own simple syrup: It’s easy! Combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan and heat gently until the sugar dissolves. Let it cool before using.
