Lemon Whip Fruit Dip Recipe

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened at room temperature
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup lemon curd (store-bought or homemade – see note below)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whipped topping (such as Cool Whip), thawed
  • Assorted fruit for dipping: strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, grapes, apple slices, etc.

  • Beat the base: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer or stand mixer until smooth and fluffy. Gradually beat in the sweetened condensed milk and lemon curd until well combined. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Fold in the whipped topping: Gently fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture until light and airy. Don’t overmix, as this can deflate the dip.
  • Chill: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend and the dip to thicken slightly.
  • Serve: Transfer the chilled dip to a serving bowl. Arrange your selection of fresh fruit on a platter or around the bowl. Enjoy!

Note: For Homemade Lemon Curd

If you’d like to make this dip extra special, you can prepare your own lemon curd. Here’s a simple recipe:

  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 3-4 lemons)
  • Zest of 2 lemons
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, cut into small pieces

  • Whisk together egg yolks, sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest in a medium saucepan.
  • Place the saucepan over medium-low heat and cook, whisking constantly, until the mixture thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon (about 8-10 minutes).
  • Remove from heat and whisk in butter until fully melted and incorporated.
  • Strain the curd through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean bowl to remove any zest or cooked egg bits.
  • Cover the surface with plastic wrap and refrigerate until chilled and ready to use.

  • Make-ahead: You can easily prepare this dip a day in advance for even more convenience.
  • Flavor variations: Experiment with other citrus flavors like lime, orange, or grapefruit for a fun twist.
  • Serve with other dippers: Graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or even pretzel sticks would be delicious additions to your dipping options.
