Pizza Pasta Bake – 5 Ingredient Casserole Recipe

Yields: 4-6 servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30-35 minutes

  • 12 ounces pasta (penne, rotini, or similar short shapes work well)
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup pepperoni slices (adjust to your liking)
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for topping)

  • Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  • Cook the pasta: Cook the pasta according to package directions for al dente. Drain well and set aside.
  • Assemble: In the prepared baking dish, combine the cooked pasta with the marinara sauce. Stir well to coat the pasta.
  • Add toppings: Sprinkle half the mozzarella cheese over the pasta. Layer the pepperoni evenly on top, then sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly browned.
  • Finish with Parmesan (optional): If desired, sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the baked casserole.
  • Rest and serve: Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving. This helps the cheese set slightly and makes slicing easier.

  • Get creative with toppings: Add other pizza toppings like sliced mushrooms, onions, black olives, or bell peppers.
  • Spice it up: For a little heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinara sauce.
  • Make it meaty: Brown some ground beef or Italian sausage and layer it into the casserole for added protein.
  • Fresh herbs: Before serving, garnish with a sprinkle of fresh basil for a delightful flavor boost.

Enjoy your cheesy, comforting Pizza Pasta Bake!
