Sparkling Mint Limeade Refreshing Mocktail Recipe

Yields: 4-6 servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Chill Time: 30 minutes (or more)

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (around 6-8 limes)
  • 1/2 cup granulated white sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup packed fresh mint leaves
  • 3-4 cups chilled sparkling water (club soda, seltzer, or mineral water all work)
  • Ice
  • Fresh lime slices and mint sprigs (for garnish)

Equipment and Utensils

  • Large pitcher
  • Citrus juicer
  • Muddler (optional, but helpful)

1. Make the mint-lime syrup: In a large pitcher, combine the lime juice, sugar, and mint leaves. Gently muddle the mint to release its flavor, but avoid crushing it completely. Otherwise, it might make the drink bitter.

2. Dissolve the sugar: Whisk the mixture vigorously until the sugar dissolves.

3. Chill: Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or ideally longer, to allow the flavors to infuse.

4. Assemble: When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice. Strain the mint-lime syrup into each glass, dividing it evenly.

5. Add the fizz: Top off each glass with chilled sparkling water.

6. Garnish and enjoy: Garnish with lime slices and fresh mint sprigs. Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing goodness!

Sweetness: Adjust the amount of sugar to your desired level of sweetness.

Simple syrup: For easier mixing, create a simple syrup by heating equal parts sugar and water until the sugar dissolves.

Herb variation: Experiment with other herbs like basil for a different flavor twist.

Make it a cocktail: Transform this into a boozy delight by adding a splash of vodka, gin, or white rum to each glass.
