Strawberry Milkshake Recipe

Yields: 2 servings
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Blend Time: 1-2 minutes

  • 3 cups vanilla ice cream (High-quality ice cream will give you the best flavor and texture)
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries (You can use fresh strawberries if in season, but make sure they are hulled and sliced)
  • 1/2 cup milk (Start with less, you can always add more)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream and fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)

  • Blender
  • Tall glasses

  • Combine ingredients: Add the ice cream, frozen strawberries, milk, and vanilla extract to the blender.
  • Blend: Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy. If it’s too thick, add a bit more milk. If too thin, add a bit more ice cream.
  • Taste and adjust: Give your milkshake a taste. Add more strawberries for a stronger strawberry flavor or a little sugar if you’d like it sweeter.
  • Serve: Pour the milkshake into tall glasses. Top with whipped cream and a fresh strawberry (sliced in half) for garnish, if desired. Serve immediately with a straw.

Tips & Variations:

  • Fresh strawberries: For the best flavor, use fresh strawberries when they’re in peak season. Make sure they are ripe, hulled, and sliced.
  • Other berry options: Experiment with blueberries, raspberries, or a combination for a fun twist.
  • Vegan version: Use your favorite vegan vanilla ice cream and plant-based milk (almond milk, soy milk, etc.)
  • Extra creamy: Add a scoop or two of strawberry ice cream for even more lusciousness.
  • Sweetness: Adjust the sweetness to your liking. You can omit adding extra sugar and rely on the natural sweetness of the strawberries and ice cream.
  • Make it a malt: Add a tablespoon or two of malt powder for that classic diner flavor.
