Turmeric Latte Recipe

Yields: 1 serving
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes

  • Milk: 1 cup of your preferred milk (whole milk, oat milk, almond milk, coconut milk all work well)
  • Turmeric: 1 tsp ground turmeric OR 1-inch piece of fresh turmeric, peeled and grated
  • Cinnamon: ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • Ginger: ½ tsp ground ginger OR a ½-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and grated
  • Sweetener: 1-2 tsp honey, maple syrup, or your preferred sweetener (adjust to taste)
  • Black pepper: A small pinch (helps with turmeric absorption)
  • Vanilla extract: ½ tsp (optional, but adds depth)
  • Additional spices (optional): Pinch of cardamom, nutmeg, or cloves

Instructions (Warm Version):

  • Combine spices: In a small saucepan, whisk together milk, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, and sweetener.
  • Heat gently: Place the saucepan over medium-low heat. Whisk frequently until the mixture is steaming hot but not boiling (about 3-5 minutes).
  • Add vanilla: Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract (if using).
  • Strain (optional): For a smoother texture, strain the latte through a fine-mesh sieve.
  • Froth (optional): Use a frother, whisk vigorously, or blend briefly to create a frothy top.
  • Serve: Pour into your favorite mug and enjoy!

Instructions (Iced Version):

  • Follow steps 1-3 above.
  • Cool: Let the latte mixture cool completely.
  • Pour: Fill a tall glass with ice. Pour in the cooled latte.
  • Enjoy!

  • Fresh vs. ground spices: Fresh turmeric and ginger offer brighter flavors; use ground if fresh isn’t available.
  • Spice customization: Feel free to adjust the spices to your taste preferences.
  • Make it creamy: For a creamier latte, use a dollop of coconut cream or a splash of heavy whipping cream.
